I heard this song today...

"Imagine"
--Jack Johnson--

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
And no hell below us
And above us is only sky

Imagine all the people
Living for today

You, you may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too

Imagine all the people
Living life for peace

You, and you may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You, and you may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

national, religious, racial identity: they all seem to divide and cause conflict among us.  is true deep peace possible while we all still cling to so many labels?  sometimes i wonder if the words we use to identify ourselves and others aren't at the root of many of the world's problems...

I think the actual by-line may belong to The Beatles... it's a good song, though.
